I. Main toolbar

A. To set distance alert

Main toolbar / GPS Preferences / Location tab

B. To navigate to a destination

II. Browse toolbar

A. To set map display for navigation

Zoom In Menu / Rotate Map

Zoom Full Extent Menu / Center on GPS


B. To set a navigation destination

Browse toolbar / Identify menu / Go to

OR

Edit toolbar / Select a feature and then Edit toolbar / Go To Selected Feature

OR

In Query Results tab, tap on the record to target

Tap the Go to icon in the right-most column 3a-goto

To edit existing feature geometry

Feature properties menu / Append and Insert Vertices

IV. Navigation technique

To enter coordinates for navigation

1. On the Find toolbar, tap the Location tab 1o-binoc

2. Tap the radio button for the appropriate Coordinate system

3. Enter coordinates and label text (Default is ‘Mark’)

4. Tap OK

5. The location is now displayed on your map

V. Data Update techniques

A. To change attributes of a collected feature

1. In Query Results tab, tap on the record to modify

2. Tap the Feature Properties icon in the right-most column 3b-feat_prop

3. Change attributes as needed

4. Clear selected features from Query menu 1p-clr_features

OR

1. On the map, select a using the Select tool 1r-blk_arrow

2. Tap the Feature Properties icon 3b-feat_prop

3. Change attributes as needed

4. Clear selected features from Query menu  1p-clr_features


B. To move a point feature to a GPS location

1. Choose layer to be edited via The Start/Stop Editing Tool  1f-spencil

2. From the Select menu, choose the Select & Vertex Editing tool 3c-vertex_edit

3. Tap and hold a point feature on the map

4. Choose Move to GPS

5. Tap OK to save the new location

C. To move or delete vertices

1.

Choose layer to be edited via The Start/Stop Editing Tool  1f-spencil

2. From the Select menu, choose the Select & Vertex Editing tool 3c-vertex_edit

3. Tap and hold a point feature on the map

4. Choose Move to GPS or Delete Vertex 2c-delete

5. Tap OK to save the new feature geometery

D. To extend a line

1. Choose layer to be edited via The Start/Stop Editing Tool 1f-spencil

2. Select feature with the Select Tool 1r-blk_arrow

3. From the Edit menu / Feature Properties / Append Vertices 3d-append_vert

4. Position antennae over desired location

5. Tap on GPS-Vertex or GPS-Stream to start collection

6. Wait until all positions are collected

7. Move to next vertex

8. Repeat steps 3-6 as needed

9. Tap OK to save the new feature geometery


E. To insert vertices

1. Choose layer to be edited via The Start/Stop Editing Tool 1f-spencil

2. Select a feature with the Select Tool 1r-blk_arrow

3. From the Edit menu / Feature Properties / Insert Vertices 3e-insert_vert

4. Digitize new vertex via pen tool.

5. Wait until all positions are collected

6. Move to next vertex

7. Repeat steps 3-6 as needed

8. Tap OK to save new feature geometry
